Derek Merdith
Derek is the co-Founder and co-Director at Fastlane.
Derek has a wealth of experience in defining and implementing strategies, matching appropriate structures and systems to achieve the client’s objectives. He has a deep understanding of the requisite financial models and systems to drive success in a business. He has a knack of looking at what appears to be a very complex conundrum and simplifying and identifying what is really needed in an organisation. He takes the view that if you can’t identify what is needed, and explain a solution in simple analogies, you haven’t found the solution.
In his spare time, when he is not enjoying family time, you will find him with his son Nick, on patrol, as a lifesaver at Surfers Paradise SLSC, swimming way out the back with his fearless daughter Jaime, or out in a surfboat where he competes for the Club.
And for the academic stuff: he has a Bachelor of Commerce (NSW), MBA (Bond), MComm[Hons] (Bond), GAICD and completed the Harvard Business School – Owner President Manager (OPM) course.
Georgia (Fast)Lane
Georgia is the Founder and Director at Fastlane.
Like father like daughter, Georgia Lane proudly launched Fastlane30 Consulting, way back in 2000, with a brand name to pay homage to her father’s boat manufacturing business Fastlane Marine, who developed the famed, and award winning, Fastlane40 luxury boat.
Georgia has stepped back from her role in Fastlane to focus on her role as Head of Fundraising for the National Trust (Qld) and Currumbin Wildlife Hospital.
When not developing programs to raise funds to keep Koala’s from extinction, Georgia is the president of Women of Influence, a not-for-profit, which she founded 20 years ago with the mission to create a community of women in business to connect, learn and grow.
